Brian proposed at the beach with family and friends present. Shelby was so excited to dive into wedding details that while she was still on vacation she emailed Weddings Taylor Made to inquire about her planning needs. Shelby began planning with Amy Brewer, WTM’s Lead Planner for Baton Rouge. Since the bride’s mother was living out of state having a planner relieved so much stress for the entire family.
Before long the date was set – May 11, 2018 and things quickly began to come together. Shelby and Brian chose to have their ceremony at St. Jude The Apostle CatholicChurch in Baton Rouge which is their home church. We love the importance of a church or venue to a couple, and being married in their home church carried a lot of sentiment and meaning. At the top of the couples’ wish list, was a venue that would offer a great party atmosphere for all of their guests. The bride and groom landed on Ruffino’sDe La Ronde Hall. De La Ronde is located in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge providing the perfect location for out of town guests to be near hotels and also ideal for an after party!
After almost one year of planning, the big day arrived. It was a perfect May day in the Capitol City. Shelby and Brian both chose to get ready in family homes. The bride and her bridesmaids were in the most beautiful southern setting complete with mimosas and mossy trees. They took the cutest pictures in their Piyama PJs that were given as a gift from the bride. The bridesmaids swooned as Shelby read a special letter from Brian delivered to her that morning.
Just around the corner, the groom and groomsmen enjoyed watching LSU baseball and having a few drinks together. Brian received his letter from Shelby and we are pretty sure we saw a few tears as he read his soon to be wife’s words. Special moments to be remembered for a lifetime.
After a beautiful ceremony, the bride, groom, and entire bridal party loaded up on a party bus to head to the reception. Upon arrival the couple had a private moment to eat and then it was out to the dance floor where they remained for the night! Souled Out Band rocked the party.
The couple exited with a fun pom-pom send-off and headed right next door to The Driftwood for an after party complete with signature cocktails! #HowboutthemApples?
