Picture this – huge, stately oak trees with moss hanging from the branches, a pond with the cutest little ducks swimming, all surrounding the most gorgeous antebellum home you have ever seen. Towering white columns encompass the whole home defining the full wrap around porch complete with rocking chairs. This was the setting at Greenwood Plantation for Whitney Miller and Hunter Floyd’s wedding reception perfection.
Nestled among the hills of St. Francisville, Greenwood Plantation is a best kept secret for wedding reception venues. The layout is spectacular for events. The homey yet elegant feel of the rooms in the house set such a special tone for the event.
Guests entered the grand front door after being greeted and having an opportunity to sign the couples’ guest book. The women’s parlor held the Bride’s Cake which was a classic 4 tier beauty from Fairy Dust Cakes. Across the hall in the men’s parlor was the groom’s cake with a hunting and LSU football theme #geauxtigers! The groom even used his LSU football later to toss the garter. What a great idea!
A Caricature artist was one of the most special touches of the evening! The guests jumped at the opportunity to take advantage of this very personalized favor.
The main dining room held a spectacular spread of food from caterer, Don Bergeron, that extended onto the porch and back patio area. There was even a buffet just for kids. Unique touches could be seen
everywhere.
The final room in the house was a bedroom where HD Photobooth was set up. They feature unique black and white prints that are frame worthy and provide an exquisite take home favor.  Homemade pralines were sent home with each person. The bride and her mother did not send their guests home hungry or empty handed!
The back patio was lit up with beautiful bistro lighting and high boy tables were set up for all to enjoy the outdoor dance floor. The Wise Guys band kept the party going well into the evening. Just off the dance floor a live painter set up to capture Whitney and Hunter’s first dance magic. Stephanie Torregrossa, a live-painter, captured this special moment and created a great life long keepsake for the happy couple.
Hunter and Whitney stayed on the property at Greenwood’s lovely bed and breakfast. They truly had Plantation Wedding Reception Perfection! Best wishes to this precious couple who recently celebrated their one year anniversary!
